For Arabic Windows 95, or 98 users: Best results can be obtained using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5. Previous versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer can be used as well, but you must use the Arabic versions.

Netscape Navigator can be set to view Arabic but note that the text and layout may be displayed incorrectly. (See the note on customisation below). If you fail to see Arabic, you may need to add the Sindbad plug-in from Sakhr

Non - Arabic Windows 95, or 98 users: Use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, but remember to turn the Arabic Language Support option while you are doing the Customised Installation. Or use Netscape Navigator with Sindbad, but bear in mind that the layout and text will may not display correctly.

For Mac users: iCab brwoser can be used to view our Arabic pages. A free version can be obtained from iCab site . There is also WinArabic which enables Netscape for Mac to read Arabic, sold online at Digital Adventures

Arabic Windows 3.1x users can browse pages using Netscape 16 bit Navigator 3.01. This too may sometimes display text incorrectly.

Important note for Netscape users: if you can not read Arabic text, try to customise your browser as follows, if you still can not view Arabic text, download Sindbad from Sakhr.

• Ensure that you are running your browser under Arabic Windows. If not,download Sinbad first.
• Run your browser and go to our Arabic News page.
• From Netscape, choose option < General Preferences > fonts. In the < Encoding Dialogue > box, choose < User Defined >.
• Click the < Choose Font > button to change the default Proportional Font.
• A Fonts Dialogue box will appear, choose an Arabic font such as Transparent Arabic from the list and choose the font size.
• Click OK. The dialogue box will disappear. Next go to the document Encoding under the Options menu, and choose User Defined again.
• Click OK to save the changes.
• You should now be able to read the Arabic text.
